Toronto Mayor Rob Ford: 'I have smoked crack cocaine'

5 November 2013 Last updated at 20:06 GMT

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has admitted smoking crack cocaine in a "drunken stupor", after allegations first emerged in May that he had used the drug.

Mr Ford told reporters at city hall he had taken the drug about a year ago but was not an addict.

The mayor has rejected calls for his resignation despite the revelation that a video apparently showing him smoking crack cocaine was in police possession.
