US senators 'heard gunshots' at Capitol

Two US senators have described hearing gunshots at the Capitol in Washington DC.

Democratic Senators Sherrod Brown and Bob Casey spoke to reporters in the immediate aftermath of the apparent shooting.

Along with all staff in the Capitol Hill complex, the politicians were ordered to take shelter as police locked the building down.
