Colorado floods: Man pulled alive from submerged car

13 September 2013 Last updated at 23:14 BST

A man has survived in a submerged car for over an hour amid floods in Colorado.

He became trapped after a bridge was washed away, sending three cars tumbling into the water below.

When fire crews finally reached the scene, the car was winched onto its side, revealing the driver alive in an air pocket inside.

However, the car fell back into the water before the man was eventually rescued.

Elham Rizi reports.
