US soldier Bradley Manning jailed for 35 years

The US soldier responsible for the biggest ever leak of secret government documents has been jailed for 35 years.

Bradley Manning passed thousands of documents to the Wikileaks website, saying he wanted to spark a debate about US foreign policy.

Last month he was convicted on 20 counts including espionage.
