Four men freed from Texas 'dungeon'

20 July 2013 Last updated at 08:21 BST

Officials in the US state of Texas say four men found living in squalid conditions in a garage in the city of Houston have told police that they were being held captive.

The men reportedly said they had been lured by promises of food and cigarettes and had been forced to hand over their social security cheques.

It is not clear how long they were held but reports suggest one of them may have been detained for up to ten years.

Tim Allman reports.
