Obamas host White House Easter egg roll

US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle have taken part in the annual White House Easter egg roll.

More than 35,000 people from 50 states were expected to participate in the event, which involves rolling a hard-boiled coloured egg on the lawn with a large serving spoon.

The tradition was originally started in 1878.
