John Kerry sworn in as Secretary of State
Massachusetts senator John Kerry has been sworn as US Secretary of State at a private ceremony in Washington DC.
Mr Kerry, the 68th Secretary of State replaces Hilary Clinton who said leading the agency had been a "unique and singular, exciting and challenging" experience.
"I'm just very, very honoured to be sworn in and I'm very anxious to get to work," Kerry said after the ceremony at the Capitol.
