New York State introduces tougher gun ownership laws
The Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo has said common sense on gun ownership had been elusive for far too many years.
Last night, New York became the first state to introduce tougher gun ownership laws, the day before President Obama is expected to announce his own plans for more stringent national measures.
The National Rifle Association called the tighter rules ''draconian'' and said they will have no impact on public safety.
