Obama CIA and defence nominations under scrutiny
A number of prominent Republicans have said they will oppose US President Barack Obama's nomination of former Republican Senator Chuck Hagel for defence secretary.
The decorated Vietnam veteran has been described by some as being hostile to Israel and soft on Iran.
Meanwhile Mr Obama's nomination for the CIA directorship, counter-terrorism adviser John Brennan faces questions over some of the interrogation techniques used at the CIA.
