Pope offers prayers for Newtown shooting victims
Pope Benedict XVI has paid tribute to the victims and families after Friday's school shooting in Newtown, saying he was deeply saddened by the "senseless violence".
Twenty children and six women died in the attack on Sandy Hook school, which was carried out by by a lone gunman who then turned his weapon on himself in the US state of Connecticut.
