Newtown massacre: President Obama to visit families

Help

President Obama will visit Newtown in Connecticut later on Sunday, following the killing of 20 children and six women by a gunman at a school in the town.

All the children who died were aged six and seven, according to an official list of the dead, and most were girls.

The gunman, named in media reports as Adam Lanza, killed his mother before driving to the school and opening fire, then shooting himself dead.

Jon Brain reports.
