Newtown residents: 'I don't know how you recover from this'
Crowds gathered on Friday night at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Newtown, giving the community a chance to come together just hours after tragedy hit this small New England town.
Attendance was so high that hundreds had to stand outside in near-freezing temperatures.
On Saturday morning the town awoke and at the general store on Main Street, sombre residents gathered to get breakfast and discuss Friday's events.
The BBC's Franz Strasser caught up with residents in both places.
