BP gets record criminal fine over Deepwater disaster
The British oil giant BP is to pay a record fine of nearly £3bn to the US government to settle criminal charges over the Deepwater Horizon disaster in 2010.
Eleven people died when the rig exploded in the Gulf of Mexico, resulting in the biggest ever offshore oil spill.
