Back to work and cleaning up in New York City
When superstorm Sandy struck New York power cuts and flooding to the city's transport infrastructure brought large areas to a complete standstill.
Parts of the subway have now reopened and workers have been encouraged to use public transport to try and avoid any repeat of the gridlock experienced by some on Wednesday.
Businesses have also begun to reopen in some suburbs, as ABC's correspondent Mark Greenblatt explains.
