Sandy's destruction on Avenue C
Super-storm Sandy hit the US East Coast on Monday evening, bringing widespread flooding to the region, deluging several neighbourhoods in New York City.
Residents along Avenue C in Manhattan's East Village neighbourhood saw some of the worst flooding, with cars destroyed and basements flooded by high water levels.
Locals told the BBC's Matt Danzico about their experience during the worst of the storm on Monday night and how the neighbourhood is faring.

The struggles of Ortley Beach
