Katrina mayor: What America has learned
Ray Nagin, who was mayor of New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina, tells BBC's Newsnight that the US has learned "some very hard lessons" on working through such natural disasters.
Mr Nagin said he was impressed with the co-ordination between federal and state officials.
