Obama: 'We are moving forward again'
US President Barack Obama has said, "as a nation we are moving forward again" shortly after a monthly Department of Labor survey showed unemployment had dropped to 7.8% in September from 8.1% in August.
The report also said the US economy had added 114,000 jobs, surpassing expectations.
But Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said that an unemployment rate of 7.8% "is not what a real recovery looks like".
The economic recovery is seen as a key issue for voters in the upcoming presidential election.
