US candidates debate the deficit

Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney have each set out how they would deal with the country's deficit as president.

Speaking during the first of three televised presidential debates, Mr Romney said it was "not just an economic issue", but "a moral issue".

Meanwhile Mr Obama said his own deficit reduction plan was "on a website, you can look at all the numbers".
