UN General Assembly: Ban Ki-moon warns over Syria 'calamity'
United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has issued a warning over the continuing violence in Syria.
Giving an opening speech at the 67th UN General Assembly in New York, Mr Ban described the conflict as "a regional calamity, with global ramifications".
Unrest across the Middle East is set to dominate discussion the summit.
