First Lady Michelle fires up Obama faithful
US First Lady Michelle Obama has made an impassioned speech backing her husband, President Barack Obama, at the Democratic convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.
She spoke of the couple's shared background in struggling families and said it was an "extraordinary privilege" serving as first lady.
President Obama will formally accept the nomination on Thursday, and face Republican Mitt Romney in November.
