Todd Akin: 'I was medically wrong'
Missouri Republican Todd Akin is continuing to back-pedal over his remarks that women's bodies had ways to prevent pregnancy in case of "legitimate rape".
The comments have caused uproar, with the Republican establishment demanding the congressman quit the race for a Senate seat in the Midwestern state.
In an appearance on ABC News' Good Morning America on Wednesday, Mr Akin said: "I was medically wrong".
"Pregnancy can happen as a result of rape," he added. "I understand that."
