Mitt Romney on US jobs 'failure'
US firms hired an extra 163,000 workers in July, according to official figures, beating economists' forecasts.
However, the unemployment rate rose from 8.2% to 8.3% last month, as more people re-entered the workforce but failed to find a job.
At a campaign stop in Las Vegas on Friday, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said the jobs report showed President Barack Obama's "devastating record of failure".
"These numbers are not just statistics, these are real people, really suffering, having hard times," Mr Romney said.
