Batman star pays respects to Colorado shooting victims

The actor who plays Batman, Christian Bale, has paid his respects to the victims of last week's shooting at a cinema in the US state of Colorado.

Twelve people died and 58 were injured when a gunman opened fire at a screening of the latest Batman film in the town of Aurora.

Christian Bale and his wife Sibi Blazic laid flowers at the makeshift memorial close to the venue where the shooting happened.

He also visited survivors and thanked medical staff and police officers.
