Denver shooting an 'intense tragedy'
Aurora Mayor Steve Hogan has said the community will "come together" to cope with the shooting in a cinema in which 12 people were killed and almost 60 people were injured.
Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper spoke of the "intensity of this tragedy" in "a safe city and a safe state and a safe country".
He said it was vital that reaction to the incident did not lead to a loss of "the joys and freedoms that we enjoy."
