Debate: Should Iran get the bomb?

A new article by Kenneth Waltz in Foreign Affairs arguing that a nuclear Iran would mean a more stable Middle East has provoked debate on foreign policy experts.

John Mearsheimer, of the University of Chicago, and Dov Zakheim, a former US undersecretary of defence, join the BBC's Rajesh Mirchandani, to discuss the article and the implications of Iran developing a nuclear weapon.

Mr Mearsheimer says that mutually assured destruction means that Iran or any other country is highly unlikely to use the bomb offensively, while Mr Zakheim says any risk of nuclear attack is too great and a nuclear Iran could lead an regional arms nuclear race.
