Northern Virginia residents describe Washington DC storm
Residents of Northern Virginia have been describing the violent storms which have hit the Washington DC area.
Winds of up to 80mph (130 km/h) brought down lines leaving some three million people without electricity and, in a record-breaking heatwave, without air conditioning.
At least 12 deaths have been linked to the storm, officials say.
