G8 leaders gather as Greek tragedy looms

Leaders at the G8 summit of industrialised countries will resume their efforts on Saturday to reach agreement on tackling the eurozone crisis.

Opening the talks at Camp David, President Obama said sorting out the problem was a matter of extraordinary importance.

At their first meeting over dinner the leaders discussed Iran and North Korea's nuclear ambitions, and the uprising in Syria.
