Newark Mayor Cory Booker saves neighbour from fire

Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker has played down suggestions he is a hero after he saved a young woman from the second floor of a burning house in his neighbourhood.

The mayor said the family caught in the blaze had always been good neighbours to him: "I was happy last night to repay the favour."

Mr Booker, who leads the New York suburb, previously garnered media attention for shovelling snow for Newark residents during a blizzard.
