President Obama announces China rare earth trade case
US President Barack Obama has said he is taking China to the World Trade Organisation over its export restrictions on rare earth minerals.
Mr Obama made the announcement on the same day as China defended its restrictions on the exports.
He said it was important to take the step in order to protect US businesses and jobs.
