Cincinnati casino site partially collapses, injuring 12

Horseshoe Casino partially collapses in Cincinnati, Ohio, 27 January 2012

At least 12 people have been injured after an under-construction casino partially collapsed in Cincinnati, Ohio, the fire department says.

A section of floor collapsed at the building site of the Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati, said police spokesman Maurice Robinson.

The collapse occurred around 08:00 (13:00 GMT) on what would be the casino's second floor.

The casino is being developed by Rock Gaming and Caesar's entertainment.

Steve Rosenthal, of casino co-developer Rock Gaming LLC, said in a statement: "A single bay of the facility collapsed as concrete was being poured. All workers were accounted for."

In December the garage of another Rock Gaming casino, also under construction, partially collapsed. No one was hurt.
