Occupy protesters march on Oakland port

Help

Anti-corporate greed demonstrators in California have forced one of America's busiest ports to close.

Protesters marched on the Port of Oakland at the end of a day which saw thousands of workers in the city out on strike.

Wednesday's walkout was spurred by an incident at a protest last week in which a military veteran was seriously injured.

Ex-Marine Scott Olsen, 24, was struck on the head with a tear gas canister during clashes between demonstrators and police.

Alastair Leithead has more details.
