Wildfires destroy hundreds of homes in Texas, US
A roaring wildfire has destroyed almost 500 homes in central Texas in the US, its rapid advance fanned in part by winds from the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee.
Evacuees Robert Saunders and Chad Carroll have described their experiences of having their lives uprooted by the fire's trail of destruction.
Texas Governor Rick Perry said it was not a time for politics, because ''people's lives and their possessions are in danger''.
