Canoeing to reclaim LA's lost river
The Thames, the Seine, the Danube are great rivers running through great cities. Think of Los Angeles and a river is hardly the thing that springs to mind.
Some people in LA do not even know the city was founded on a river, which is often seen as a concrete storm drain and a setting for big Hollywood car chases.
Yet a campaign to reclaim the river is starting to make some headway and its place in the city is beginning to become a treasure rather than an eyesore.
