Obama: Anthony Weiner now has time to focus on his family

Help

The US President Barack Obama has spoken out for the first time about the resignation of Anthony Weiner.

Mr Weiner, a married New York Congressman, was forced to resign on Thursday after admitting he had engaged in a series of online chats with women to whom he also sent lewd photos of himself.

In an interview with ABC's Good Morning America, Mr Obama said he hoped the former Congressman would now have the time to focus on his family.
