Eight-year-old taken into care after mother injects her with Botox

An eight-year-old girl from California has been taken into care after her mother injected her with Botox.

Part-time beautician Kerry Campbell maintains she performed the procedure to improve her daughter Britney's appearance in beauty pageants.

Andy Ross, a reporter on the San Francisco Chronicle, told BBC Radio 5 live: "This story touched on a lot of issues that we all face.

"Seeing this image of this mum trying to go to such lengths to help her daughter win a beauty pageant really struck home with a lot of people in a way they didn't care for."
