Railway maps of the world: bringing people together

As the US announces it will put $2bn (£1.2bn) towards high speed rail projects across the country, Mark Ovenden, a railway enthusiast and author, talks about how the many miles of tracks across the globe bring us closer together.

With a striking collection of hundreds of above ground rail maps, Railway Maps of the World, published by Viking, is the first book to show modern day railway networks from every country.
