Frank Buckles was a 'symbol of World War I generation'
America's last surviving veteran of World War I, Frank Buckles, died on Monday aged 110.
Mr Buckles joined the US army in 1917 when he was just 16 by lying about his age. He died of natural causes at his home near Charles Town, West Virginia.
Edwin Fountain is the secretary of the National World War I Memorial Foundation in Washington and has met Frank. He told Rhod Sharp on BBC Radio 5 live's Up All Night about his army career.
