US shooting: 'I held gunman by throat'

A survivor of the Arizona shooting has told how he helped pin the gunman to the floor, despite being injured.

Bill Badger found himself next to the gunman who had already fired into the crowd at a political event in Tucson.

Representative Gabrielle Giffords was shot in the head and remains in a critical condition. Six other people were killed, including a nine-year-old girl.

Mr Badger said he considered himself lucky to be alive.
