President Obama reacts to shooting in Arizona
A US congresswoman has been shot in the head while meeting local constituents in Tucson, Arizona.
Gabrielle Giffords, who is a Democrat, has undergone emergency surgery and is now in intensive care in hospital.
A nine year old child died and several other people were seriously injured.
President Obama said Gabrielle Giffords was a personal friend and he urged Americans to pray for her and the other victims.
