MC Kash: the rapper from Kashmir
Kashmir has had one of its most violent years in a long time, with over 100 people killed since a wave of protests began in June.
The troubles have inspired one young man, 20-year-old Roushan Illahi from Srinagar, to express himself through rap music.
He shot to prominence with his track I Protest, which is about the demonstrations and the resulting deaths.
Critics say his music is inflammatory, and not long after the track came out, police raided his studio, suspecting that a militant or separatist group could be behind him.
MC Kash denies this. He told BBC World Service that he is trying to inform rather than provoke.
