New UN aid chief Baroness Amos visits Pakistan

The newly appointed head of UN humanitarian relief Lady Valerie Amos has spent her first day in office touring Pakistan.

Baroness Amos became the most senior Briton in the UN when she takes over from countryman Sir John Holmes.

The UN says eight million people remain in need of emergency aid in the flood-stricken country.
