Can a photo be as good as a painting?

For the first time in its 150 year history, London's National Gallery devoted a major show to the subject of photography - specifically the links between photography and painting.

Andrew Graham-Dixon reports on what we might learn from this double exposure. The exhibition can next be seen in Barcelona.
