Working Lives: Thailand

Nino Sarabutra gave up a lucrative career in advertising to concentrate on her art full time.

Her home serves as a gallery for her ceramics and her tropical garden doubles as an outdoor studio.

One solo show a year generates about half her sales, and when the show is over the art moves back to her house, where clients are invited to view and purchase her work.

Although her salary is unpredictable and comes in fits and bursts she estimates she can earn up to $6,000 a month (£3,790).
