Iraq crisis: Desperate plight of refugees near Dohuk

19 August 2014 Last updated at 22:45 BST

The United Nations is mounting a major aid operation to try and help more than half a million people who have fled for their lives from extremist Islamic State (IS) fighters in northern Iraq.

Aid will be delivered by air, road and sea, starting on Wednesday.

Many of the refugees have arrived at a huge refugee camp near Dohuk and are in desperate need of help, as Jeremy Cooke reports.
