Assad chemical attack is 'a fact' - John Kerry

19 September 2013 Last updated at 21:17 BST

The US Secretary of State John Kerry says "it is a fact" President Bashar al-Assad was responsible for the chemical weapons attack on Damascus in August.

Mr Kerry claimed that a UN report was "unequivocal" in its assertion that the sarin gas attack bore the trace of the Assad regime.

The US is pushing for a UN resolution to enshrine an agreement with Syria for it to hand over all chemical weapons to the international community.
