How would Syria respond to military action?

David Cameron says Britain will put a resolution to the United Nations Security Council in New York today, authorising necessary measures to protect civilians in Syria from chemical weapons.

If military action goes ahead by the US and its allies, it raises the question of Syria's response.

The BBC's Defence correspondent Jonathan Beale has been looking at the options.
