Hamas holds first West Bank rally for five years

For the first time in more than five years, the Palestinian group Hamas has been allowed to hold a mass demonstration in the West Bank.

Permission for the rally to mark the Islamist movement's 25th anniversary was granted by the Palestinian Authority, which is dominated by Hamas's secular rivals Fatah.
