Hamas political leader Khaled Meshaal: Israel has failed
Hamas political leader Khaled Meshaal has held a defiant news conference in Cairo after a ceasefire was agreed to end a week of violence in which more than 150 Palestinians and five Israelis have died.
He said that the Israelis had "achieved a great deal" in terms of damage in Gaza, but that they had failed in their objective to destroy "the underlying structure of the resistance".
