Ban Ki-moon: Israel must exercise maximum restraint
The Egyptian President, Mohammed Morsi, has said that efforts to achieve a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas will produce positive results.
Israel has put plans to send troops into Gaza on hold whilst peace talks take place in Cairo.
At a news conference with the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon said Israel must exercise maximum restraint'.
