The BBC's Wyre Davies visited the ruined home of Hamas policeman Mohamed Dalou where up to 10 people, including young children, died.
It was the single biggest loss of life since cross border hostilities began.
The Israel Defence Force said the house was targeted because it was believed Hamas militant Yahia Rabiya was using the building.
